Juan Solis

It is with great sadness that the family of Juan Solis, Jr. announces his passing on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the age of 43 years. Juan is the son of Juan Y. Solis and Maria Nelda Solis and was born on March 17, 1975 in Kingsville, Texas. He was raised in La Grulla, Texas and graduated Salutatorian of his class from Rio Grande City High School in 1993. He attended the University of Texas-Austin where he decided to make Austin his longtime home. Juan was a successful insurance agent in Austin and San Antonio for over fifteen years.

Juan was brilliant, quick minded, and incredibly witty. Friends and family will forever remember Juan's smile and his ability to make us all laugh. Juan loved the arts and traveling. He was an avid photographer, artist, lover of science fiction, graphic novels, and pop culture art. He could spend hours walking museums and taking in the sights and sounds of an unfamiliar city.

Juan is survived by his mother, Maria Nelda Solis and his sister, Maritza Nora Solis, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Y. Solis.

Juan was a devoted son, a caring brother and loyal friend. Like his father, Juan's generosity knew no bounds as he was always available to help out a friend or family member. Juan has lit up this earth so bright with his presence that his light will burn eternal in our hearts and memories. Juan will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with The Celebration of Juan's Life following at 3:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas.
