Joseph Alan Lucas Joseph Alan Lucas, 42, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Joe was born January 6, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Joe is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth Hill, and sons, Joshua and Timothy of Austin and Joe Lucas, Jr. of New Jersey; granddaughter Karen Nicole of New Jersey; mother and stepfather, Peggy and Don Newman of Round Rock; two sisters, Diane Greene and Deborah Peron of Austin; brother-in-law, Scott Peron of Austin; niece and nephews, Kelley Greene, and Andrew and Sam Peron of Austin. Other survivors include one uncle, three aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers too numerous to list. He is predeceased by his father, Jozef Lucas. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force and was currently employed at UT General Libraries where he was a facilities manager. He was a devoted family man, often working extra jobs to provide for them. He was a handy man, a great cook, and was known for his love of penguins. Joe will be deeply missed and his death leaves a tremendous void in many lives. His life and death will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a special fund that has been set up for Joshua and Timothy at University Federal Credit Union, the Joe Lucas Memorial Fund, in care of Scott Peron, P.O. Box 9350, Austin, Texas 78766-9350. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Austin Police Department, the APD Victim Services and to the Round Rock Police Department.The family would also like to thank our many supportive friends and their compassion in this time of mourning.
