John Stanley Riney 84, of Austin passed away in his home surrounded by his family on May 25, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Pampa, Texas on May 4, 1933 to Claude and Helen (O'Fynn) Riney.
John was a scientist and mathematician. He worked with many government agencies as a problem solver, a job he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Claude Riney, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Ann Bishop Riney; son John Stuart Riney and wife Mariza; grandchildren, John Steven Riney and wife Kelly, Desorahy Riney, Donna Goss, and Jeniffer Dressen and husband Justin; great-grandchildren, Mary Riney Manshack and husband Cory, Allison Riney and Wyatt Abel; and great-great grandchildren, Owen and Zach Riney.
John lived a long and fulfilling life and will be greatly missed by everyone.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Nurses Unlimited and the staff of Hospice Austin for all of their wonderful compassion and care for John.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish North Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar.
