He attended Waltrip High School in Houston before going on to attend The University of Texas at Austin studying physics and engineering. While at UT, he met his wife of 54 years, Hannah Hoke Kilgore.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, established computer engineer, and avid woodworker. In his retirement, he enjoyed reading history books and researching his family’s genealogy.
John is survived by his siblings, Richard and Anne Kilgore, his son, Robert Kilgore, and his granddaughters, Aislynn and Trudy Kilgore.
A graveside service is planned for 12:00PM on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at Austin Memorial Park, located at 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin, Texas.
