John was born to John and Charlotte “Charlie” Browning in Dallas, Texas November 25, 1980. John and his two brothers, Shane and Michael, were raised by their mother and stepdad, David Holt.
At the age of 16 John began working in the telecommunications industry traveling the country with both of his brothers eventually becoming a lead technician and later worked for the service department at LodgeNet Entertainment. John was blunt and said what was on his mind but was liked and respected by his employers and co-workers. He had a kind, caring heart and would help anyone.
John spent lots of time working on bicycles, old cars, lawn mowers, and anything mechanical with his stepdad Dave. He also loved to BBQ and cook. In 2016 John lost his stepdad. John thought of Dave as his dad and never really recovered from his passing. After Dave was laid to rest Charlie and John moved from Austin to East Texas.
In East Texas John started following the teachings of TV pastor Dr. Charles Stanley. Later in 2017, during a visit to a friend’s shop, he and his friend knelt and prayed after discussing his stepdad’s death. John accepted Christ that day.
John is preceded in death by his dad, David Holt, Grandfather, John Browning, and Grandmother, Irene Browning-Sawyer, and many others in the Holt family.
John is survived by his mother, Charlotte Browning, biological father John Browning Jr., grandmother Geraldine Godwin, step-grandmother Anna Rogers, brother Shane Currier and his wife Amy Currier, brother Michael Browning and his wife Tracy Browning, niece Amber Proctor, nephew Andrew Browning, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
