John Peter Berta

John Peter Berta of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2016, at age 59. John was born in Pueblo, Colorado, but moved to El Paso, Texas, in his youth. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Business. In El Paso, John worked for Bancology, Allen-Bradley, and Thomason Hospital. John moved to Round Rock in the 1990s and went to work for Texas Hospital Association (THA).

He enjoyed watching football and golf, listening to music, and playing with the family pets. John is remembered for his kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, quick mind, and warm and generous nature. Even in his final illness, John retained his wit and good nature, getting to know the hospital staff and making them laugh. His family and friends will miss him immensely.

John is preceded in death by his father, Alexander and sister, Renee. He is survived by his mother Evelyn; sisters Alexis and Andrea; brother-in-law Joseph; niece Hayley; and stepmother Velia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 5:00 PM with rosary beginning at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West (128 N. Resler Dr, El Paso, TX 79912). Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 1:00 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church (400 W. Sunset, El Paso, TX 79922). A private inurnment will be held by the family at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
