Joe Robert "Bay" Riojas

Bay graduated from Lanier High School in Austin. He worked as a tile setter and his work was impeccable. His work also included plumbing and carpentry. He loved music, people, new places, fun, and the outdoors.

Bay had an immense passion and care for animals, birds, fish and reptiles. He was an optimist and had a very kindred spirit; always acknowledging everyone in his circle of family and friends. He loved many and gave fully to all his relationships providing support at any time to those in need.

Bay's greatest love was his family, his son, "Guero"; his daughter, Kristie "his butterfly"; and beautiful granddaughter, Lilly. He always spoke lovingly of his family.

Bay was a personable, loving and humble man. Our memory of him will always be engraved in our hearts.

Those who will continue to celebrate his life are his son, Joe Robert Riojas, Jr. (Melissa); his daughter, Kristie Carmelita Riojas; his granddaughter, Liliana J. Riojas; his parents, Felix and Bertha Riojas; his brother, Albert Riojas (Virginia); his brother, Gilbert Riojas; the mother of his children, Becky Flores; his step-sons, Manuel Frank Flores (Lisa), Alex Flores of Whittier, CA (Ana); his step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. The Mass of Resurrection celebrating Bay's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 East Ninth Street, Austin, TX 78702 officiated by Friar Florencio Rodriguez, TOR. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
