On May 27, 2014, Joanne Moore Grumbles met Jesus face to face after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born November 17, 1943 to Joe D. and Agnes Morris Moore in Aransas Pass, Texas, she was the 4th of 6 children. The family later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and Joanne graduated from Calallen High School in 1963.
Married April 20, 1964 Joanne and Marcus Grumbles recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with 2 children, Ronald Eugene and Robyne Renee. Joanne was a homemaker and stay at home mom, involved with the children in their school activities.
Faith and a relationship with her Lord were the most important things in her life. Joanne was an active member of Central Assembly of God church 40 years and a current member of New Life Assembly of God church. Also, important was her fellowship with “Isaiah 61” women’s Bible study group.
As a born artist, Joanne was in her element creating and making something beautiful. She could easily make decorative household items, fancy shirts, ceramics, jewelry, wall paintings and clothes. She excelled at all types of crafts, sewing, painting and free hand drawings. Employed at Bergstrom Air Force Base craft shop for 10 years, Joanne enjoyed helping others with their projects and teaching them to create and paint ceramics. She was also prop master for several long running and popular plays performed at Central Assembly of God church.
Pre-deceased are parents, older sister Mary Evelyn Bondurant and youngest brother Bobby Joe Moore. Survived by spouse Marcus, daughters Robyne and Cheryl G. Smith of Austin, son Ronald Sr. (Misty) and grandchildren Ronald Jr. (RJ), Tiffany and Samantha of Thrall. Also, siblings Joe D. (JD) Moore of Corpus Christi, Mary A. Smith of Kingsland and Billy Joe (BJ) Moore (Jo Ann) of Pleasanton, numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
