Jimmy Williams, 73, of Austin, died on March 24, 2016. After a battle with lung cancer, Jimmy seemed to have won the war; his cancer was in remission. But the body is a fragile vessel for the spirit. He left this realm, despite our best efforts to keep him with us.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Eileen and son Julian, both with him in Austin, Texas. Also surviving are sons, Jimmy and Brian Williams, daughters Donna Frailey, Mary Keller, and Martene Maytum, siblings Ed Pletnick, Wayne Williams, Debbie Kachmarsky, and many grandchildren.
A diamond jeweler most of his life, he was liked and respected in business communities worldwide. He will be remembered and missed by family, friends, and associates. There will be a private family service to be held at Weed-Corley-Fish on North Lamar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in Jimmy's memory.
