

Jessie Drucilla Jenks passed away February 8, 2005, after a sixteen year battle with Parkinsons Disease. Jessie was born August 12, 1919 in Delhi, Texas. A fifth generation Texan, she served in the Womens Army Corp in World War II. After the war, she returned to Austin and received her bachelors degree from the University of Texas. Jessie was a charter member of Riverbend Church where she belonged to the Verity class whose teacher and members she dearly loved. For her, Riverbend was a special place of renewal and hope. Jessie was a member of the Communications Workers of America and the Capital Area Parkinsons Society. Jessie is survived by her daughter, J. Maxine Jenks; her brothers and sisters: James Monroe Fogle, Dorothy Schwartz, Velma Shurtleff, Truett Fogle, Stephen Fogle, Janice Downs and Walter Joe Fogle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews all of whom she adored. Two brothers predeceased her: Marvin Fogle and Harry Fogle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at Riverbend Church Smith Chapel on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Capital Area Parkinsons Society, P.O.
