Jessica Gean Ferguson

Jessica Gean Ferguson, 65, of Austin, Texas was called Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was born on August 12, 1949 in Edinburg, Texas to Jess Gordon Turner, Jr. and Ruby Hazel Copeland Turner.

Jessie, aka Geannie was full of love and life. She left an imprint on all she crossed paths with.

She moved to Arizona in the mid 70's with her husband Jimmy Murphy, where they raised their daughters to be strong, loving, successful young ladies before she returned back to her home state of Texas in the early 90's. Once here she met her true soul mate John. They began their life journey together in 1994 and blended 2 amazing families, creating one. Jessie was strong, a survivor, caring and truly loved living life and growing in her faith with the Lord. Through difficult times, she never gave up and continued to put others before herself. Her selfless acts and overflowing love continued to the very end. She had the opportunity to visit all of the family over the past year and be there for the birth of her latest granddaughter. She left nothing unsaid or unfinished. We will continue to walk her path of loving life and having an attitude of gratitude and service. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jessie was surrounded by her husband, daughters, best friend and sister when she was freed from us to continue home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her loving husband John Ferguson III, daughters, Tammy Bono (Jarrod) and Claudine Shelley (Brian); stepdaughters, Julie Arnold (Curt) and Kathryn Callaway (Justin); stepson, John Ferguson IV (Heather); grandchildren, Brynna Marie, Tyler, Jordyn, Connor, Jaycie, Jayden, Izzie, Stella, Scarlett, Justin, Kevin, Jason, Miranda and Colton; sister, Hazel Smith; stepsiblings, Gordon and Cheryl; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Bannockburn Baptist Church.
