Jeff, a US Air Force Captain who served in Vietnam, Thailand and England, had a distinguished military career. After his service, he pursued a career in law, specializing in Civil Trial Law and later working as an Assistant Attorney General in the Texas Department of Transportation.
He was known for his generosity, commitment, and dedication to serving others. Jeff was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and volunteered with the American Red Cross. He had a passion for dancing, especially two-step and tango, as well as volleyball and fencing. His involvement in his community extended to teaching Sunday School and participating in mission projects, including building a school in Guatemala.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Marilee, brother Tim, sister Lisa, children Alison, Megan, Elizabeth, Logan, and Tina, grandchildren Harper, August, Sophia, Quentin, Oliver and Isla, and Bob the dog. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara, father Jean, and sister Janine.
Jeff Blackwelder will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to the law, his passion for dance, and his unwavering commitment to helping others.
A service in honor of Jeff's life will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones Dr, Austin, TX 78731, on Monday, June 10th, at 2:00 PM. Contributions can be made to UNICEF, American Red Cross, and the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
