She was born in Lockhart, Texas on June 3, 1912.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Benny and Ben P. Atkinson III and husbands, Benjamin P. Atkinson and Bill Clark of Lockhart, Texas.
Survivors include one son, Robert D. Atkinson of Austin Texas; two daughters, Jan Atkinson Tilton of Georgia and Jill Jones of Driftwood Texas; nine grandchildren, Larry Tilton Jr., Traci Clifton, Kristi McLinskey, Ben, Luke, and Jenni Tilton, all of Georgia; Aaron and Amanda Jones of Driftwood; Evelyn Atkinson of Austin; and fifteen great-grandchildren all in Georgia.
Jeanne graduated from Lockhart High School. She attended Westmoreland College in San Antonio, and The University of Texas in Austin.
Her social and civic affiliations included Junior Helping Hand Home for Children, Women's Symphony League, Brackenridge Hospital Auxiliary, Lakeway Associates of Seton, Lakeway Service League, and Lake Travis Arts League.
Her first Austin church was University Methodist where she was married to her first husband, Benjamin Palmer Atkinson Jr. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin, and later a member of Lakeway Ecumenical Church, before returning to University Methodist.
She earned the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Every family member felt her love and dedication. She set a fine example of aging with grace. Her memory and inspiration will be cherished and her presence dearly missed.
Private services will be held.
