Jean Marie Rich

Jean Marie Rich, our beloved Mema, 74 of Austin, TX, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, being cared for by the 7th floor staff at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, with her 2 sons at her side. Jean was born May, 26, 1947, to Edwin and Dorothy Ferguson, in Brownwood, TX. After graduating from Brownwood High, she moved to Austin and started what turned out to be an almost 60 year career in Insurance, most recently working with great colleagues and friends at Frost Insurance where she was loved and will be greatly missed. She always kept the candy bowl full for her work family. Family was important to Jean, and she enjoyed being with them anytime she could. Jean dedicated her life to running her 2 sons around to various activities and raising them to be true gentlemen. Ms. Rich is survived by 2 wonderful sons, Cole Rich and Carson Rich and his long time girlfriend Fran, all from the Austin area as well as 2 grandchildren Ashlee Rich and Kaiden Rich, who she adored dearly. Ms. Rich also leaves behind sisters Pat Johle and husband Roger of Harker Heights, TX, Betty Garner and husband Britt of Abilene, TX, and her lovely brother Jim Ferguson and wife Vicki of Brownwood, TX and many loving nieces, nephews, and others. Ms. Rich was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Dorothy Ferguson. Services will be held on Monday November 1, at 2pm, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78705.
