the Southwest church of Christ for 41 years and supported many church activities.
She was a native of Sheffield, Alabama, and attended Sheffield schools through high school graduation. She married W. N. (Bill) Jackson in 1951 and lived in several locations during his station changes with the U. S. Marine Corps.
After leaving the Marine Corps Bill attended David Lipscomb College and became a minister in the church of Christ. Jean supported him in all of his decisions and changes of location. They worked as missionaries in England. They also worked with churches in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Texas.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William N. (Bill) Jackson, and her sons Larry Jackson of Manhattan, Kansas and Barry Jackson of College Station, Texas.
She is survived by her brother, Russell Newton, Houston, Tx., daughter-in-law Sharolyn Jackson, Manhattan, Kansas, brother-in-law Lloyd Jackson, Muscle Shoals, Al. and Sister-in-law, Diane Jackson, Florence, Al., and Nieces and Nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 19 at Cook-Walden/ Forest Oaks Memorial Park. The service will be at 2:00PM with Cody Westbrook officiating.
