Jayne Gray Hicks of Lakeway, Texas, age 85, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2010. Jayne was born on March 20, 1924. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charley L. Hicks, her parents Edward W. Gray and Mildred R. Gray, her Brother Edward R. Gray and sister Barbara Ellis. She is survived by her son Andy Hicks and wife Faith, her daughter Sally Hicks Barto, grandchildren Andy Hicks Jr. and wife Shannon, Dylan Barto, Josh Hicks, Luke Hicks and Jake Hicks, and great-grandchild Bethany Hicks, her brother Ron Gray and many nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in Maryville, Missouri. She attended Carleton College and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Education. She was a lifelong devoted member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She married her high school sweetheart Charley Hicks, the love of her life on August 3, 1946 and was married for 54 years until his passing in 2000. They lived in Utah, California, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma City, Texas, Scotland, London and Jakarta, Indonesia. They retired to Lakeway, Texas in 1985 and spent their summers in Cross Lake, Minnesota where they enjoyed fishing, golfing and relaxing. She enjoyed every day and lived life to the fullest. She loved going to parties and traveling with her friends and family. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. Everyone enjoyed her quick wit and engaging personality. She was happy in everything she did and her positive attitude was contagious to all. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Salvation Army or the charity of your choice. The memorial service will be held Saturday March 13th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd. in Lakeway, Texas. We will always love and miss our precious "Lady Jayne"!
