Jayne Howe Hearn, 75, of Buda, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on March 25th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 8th, 1948, in Evanston, Illinois, to Robert and Martha Howe. She was known for her loving heart, sense of humor, style, and class.
Jayne grew up in a military family, living in various places across the country. She graduated from Summit High School and pursued a career as a flight attendant for United Airlines where she was promoted to flight coordinator of all stewardesses. Despite her busy career, Jayne continued her education, studying at Miami University, University of Texas at Austin-Business School, and ultimately earning a degree in Interior Design from Texas State University.
Jayne moved to Texas where she built a life and a family, welcoming her daughters Brittany and Bridget into the world. Her dedication to her children was evident. She always put her family first, and she took great pride in being involved in every aspect of their lives. She never missed an opportunity to be at a softball game or dance recital. She cherished her role as a mother but found her greatest joy in being a grandmother to her grandchildren; Tatum, Ryan, and Aly, whom she adored and celebrated at every opportunity. Her most cherished role was caring for her grandchildren while her daughters and their husbands pursued their careers. Jayne was a devoted dog owner, and her faithful companion Giselle was by her side for 13 years.
Jayne was a cherished member of Creekside Villas, where she cultivated numerous close friendships. Actively engaged in community events, she often took the lead in organizing them. Among her favorite activities were Bingo and hosting football parties, especially taking pride in organizing Sunday gatherings. Jayne deeply valued the friendships she developed at Creekside and was immensely grateful for the support and companionship she found there.
Jayne was a woman of faith, finding solace and joy in her church community at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, giving her strength and comfort, especially in her final days.
Jayne is survived by her daughters; Brittany Nava (Tony) and Bridget Shoemaker (Joel), her grandchildren; Tatum Shoemaker, Ryan Nava, and Aly Nava, and nieces; Abby Howe-Heyman and Kate Howe.
Jayne is preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Martha Howe, brother Robert Howe MD, and aunt Francis Laugerquist.
Her daughters wish to acknowledge the incredible support and care Jayne received from the staff at Trinity Hospice.
Jayne will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kindness, love, and joyful spirit will always be remembered. Rest in Peace. Your journey on earth was a blessing to us all.
A memorial service to celebrate Jayne's life will be held on April 6th, 2024 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Buda, TX at 10:00 am. (725 FM 967 Buda, TX 78610).
