Janie Esparza Riojas

Our dear mother Janie Esparza Riojas born to Genaro Esparza Sr. and Theresa Nandin Esparza in Martindale, Texas and resided in Austin, Texas most of her life. She passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday October 3, 2023 to be with our heavenly father..

She was a wonderful loving mother and grandma who lived for her family, there was never a day that passed that she wasn't praying for us all.. She shaped our family, leaving her imprint on us all that will forever be strong. Whether it was being there for us through tough times or providing a loving home for her grandchildren to sleep over, she was always there. There was nothing like her cooking, it was always made with lots of love and nobody made tortillas like our mother..Mom also loved her ranchero music til the very end, there was never a morning that you couldn't hear it in her room or at night before she went to bed. There will always be great stories and memories of her laughter and love that we will personally hold dear to our hearts. Her prayers will continue to bless her family and her generations of family to come.. Thank you mom for being the loving and caring person you were, we will never forget the love you gave us all, you were an extraordinary mother and grandmother whose love knew no limits, her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to her children will forever be etched in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children Guadalupe Ancira Riojas Sr, Daughter-in-law Angie Riojas, sisters; Dora Polanco, Ophelia Martinez, Bertha Esparza, brothers; Henry Esparza Sr., Genaro Esparza Jr., Richard Esparza. She is survived by her children; Robert E. Riojas Sr., Yolanda Pedraza and husband Ernest, Guadalupe (Pio) Riojas and wife Anna, Rita Limon and husband Julio, Eric Riojas, brother Eddie Esparza Sr. and wife Sharon, 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Serving as Pallbearers Christian Riojas, John Castillo, Tony Riojas, Ronnie Riojas, Robert Riojas Jr., Rigo Riojas, Jimmy Esparza and Stephen Esparza.

Visitation 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 East 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702 with Friar Florencio Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery & Mausoleum, 14501 North Interstate Hwy. Austin, Tx 78753..
