She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chester G. Salazar Sr. Married for 67 years, they had a bond that could never be broken. Fondly known as Janice (Johnnie), Mother, Grandma and Gram she took great pride in her family. Her indomitable spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Gayle and Dan Waldenmaier, Chester G. Salazar Jr. and Judy K. Turley and; six grandchildren, Tommy and Gay Smith, Janet Smith, Chet and Dianna Salazar, Suzette Molina, Alicia and Mike Day, Anna-Catherine and JohnLunde; eight great grandchildren Roger and Robyn Smith, Matthew and Avery Smith, Luke Molina, Chloe Molina, Alexa Day, Gabbi Day, Joshua Lunde, Jackson Lunde; two great great grandchildren Barrett Smith and Hunter Smith.
Mrs. Salazar’s family also wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her devoted care partners at Emeritus at SugarLand in SugarLand (Houston), Texas and a very caring nurse with Southwest Home Health Care - Linda Brooks LVN.
Her life will be celebrated and she will be surrounded by many dear friends and loving family members during her memorial service. Funeral services will be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 16th of September, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery Annex, Austin, Texas.
