James Charles Triplett, 80 of Austin, Texas passed away March 12, 2016. James was born May 24, 1935 in Embreeville, Tennessee to Pearl and David Triplett. He grew up in Erwin, Tennessee where he graduated from Unicoi County High School. He married the former Lourdes Gallegos on July 4, 1957 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
James retired from the Air Force after 20-years of service, which included tours in Vietnam, Alaska and Europe. He loved spending time with his family, reading, telling stories, watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lourdes; daughters Cheryl (Fred) Kramme, Penny Triplett, Kimberly (Lee Hyden) Triplett; grandchildren James Murray, Rhys Murray, Kaitlin (Mat) Jaroslawski, Matthew (Maggie) Kramme; great grandchildren Parker Kramme, Emmet Kramme and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and grandson Brendan Kramme.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow, Austin, TX 78758, on Wednesday, March 23rd at 9:30 AM. James will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209 following the service at 2:30 PM.
