James is survived by his wife, Jane Marie Snyder; their sons, James Edward and Edward Patrick Snyder; their daughter, Marie Erin Timmermann; their son in law, Barth Timmermann; and their three grandchildren Colin, Aidan, and Gavin Timmermann. He is predeceased by his parents, James Edward and Muriel Richards Snyder; and his brother, Douglas Snyder.
James was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 15, 1943, to James Edward and Muriel Richards Snyder. His family moved to Pelham, New York in 1956 where he met Jane Marie Bergin, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward P. Bergin (deceased), whom he would later marry. He received his high school diploma from Trinity Pauling Prep and spent 2 years in the United States Army after graduation. After his discharge from the army, he received a degree in business from Pace University in New York and worked many years in sales.
James married Jane on February 13th, 1971, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The two raised their three children in Pelham, New York, and later moved to Austin Texas to be closer to their grandchildren.
James was an avid tennis player and fan and loved following and discussing politics. He cherished spending time with his family and his faithful, standard poodle Jacques. He will be deeply missed.
A private service was held with his immediate family.
