James Timothy Purcell

Tim Purcell was born March 21, 1962 to Rita Rose Purcell and James “Terrence” Purcell in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in St. Joseph Missouri.

Detective James "Tim" Purcell, was a 24 year Navy veteran and active member of Austin Police Department when he lost his valiant battle with cancer. Detective Purcell graduated from the 112th Cadet Class on April 27th, 2007. In February of 2021, he promoted to Detective and began his work in Property Crimes.

Tim Purcell always lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed flying radio controlled aircrafts, fast cars and spreading joy with his unmistakable laughter.

Tim Purcell is survived by his wife Sherry, son Jeremy, daughter Janine, son-in-law Austin Police Officer Jasiel Hernandez, five grandchildren, his mother Rita, three brothers Mike, Bill, and Brian.
