James Earlon Joyner, age 78, of Leander, Texas died peacefully Sunday night, February 24, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Home in Austin, Texas. Born February 9, 1935, in Snyder, Texas, he was the son of the late Buck Joyner and Flora (Freeman) Joyner.
James was a carpenter for Carpenter’s Local Union 1266 in Leander, Texas for forty years. He was a Free Mason for many years and a loving and devoted father who would do anything for his children. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, gardening, and playing the guitar.
James is survived by four children; James Marshall Joyner, Judson Clifford Joyner, James Lloyd Joyner, and Chelsea Kay (Joyner) Landfried. They in turn gave him six grand-children; James Andrew Joyner, Nikole Lynn Joyner, Judson Clifford Joyner II, Kara Turner, Kelly Jean Strong, and Allison (Fontaine) Ernst.
His memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills at 1:00 pm.
