James was born at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin Texas on November 16,1952. He grew up in Austin where he became a graduate of John H. Reagan High School. After graduating from high school James went to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he majored in Park Administration and Landscape Architecture. He also, received a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Upon graduating from Tech, James worked for the city of Lubbock until he received his first position with Texas Parks and Wildlife at Balmorhea State Park. Working for Texas Parks and Wildlife was his DREAM JOB. He retired with a little over 20 years of service with T.P.W. He always said that was the best job anyone could have.
James interest were sailing, camping, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, collecting cars and spending time with family and friends. His favorite music was Pink Floyd.
James is preceded in death by his father James Hudnall Sr., mother Mary Kathryan Hudnall Baker, grandparents Col. H.H. Stewart and Ruby Faye Stewart. He is survived by his wife Jan, son Russ, daughter-in-law Susan, grandson Peyton.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2 from 1pm to 5pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 2620 South Congress, Austin, Texas.
Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum at 10:30 am Monday, June 3.
The Cemetery is located at 3650 South I-35 Frontage Road, Austin, Texas.
