James A. Buck, Sr., also known as Jim and Buck, passed away on October 8, 2003. He was 77 years old. Mr. Buck is survived by his children, Mary Cathleen Wortelboer, of Oxford, MI, Kevin W. Buck, James A. Buck Jr., Timothy K. Buck, all of Austin, Texas, Margaret J. Cook, of Seattle, WA, Matthew Schumann, of Cincinnati, OH; and a sister, Jean Kurleman, of St. Petersburg, FL. Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 9, 1926, to Allan and Mary Buck. He attended Elder High School and joined the Navy in 1944. He served for two years. Jim lived briefly in Charleston, SC, where he attended the College of Charleston to study classical music, for which he had a passion. He had a love for Elder High School sports and had many friends that shared his lively sense of humor. A Memorial Mass for Mr. Buck will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
