Jack Metcalf

L.A. “Jack” Metcalf, age 88, of Manor, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 18, 2007. Jack had been a car business owner in Austin since 1949. He was a member of Hill City Lodge #456 AF&AM, a 56 year member of Kinney Ave. Baptist Church and a devout Christian. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mildred in June 2006, and his brother, O.C. Metcalf. He is survived by his son, Joseph Lee Metcalf and wife, Carol; his daughter, Janice Kay Campney and husband, Bruce; five grandchildren, Chris, Sherrise, Melanie, Justin and Jeffrey; five great-grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Dallas, James and Davisand other family members. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21st at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22nd at Kinney Ave Baptist Church, 1801 Kinney Ave. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joel Thielepape officiating.
