Isabella Louise Childs

Isabella Louise Childs, 87, of Austin, Texas, died in her sleep on December 28, 2006. She was born to Joseph and Mattie Burks on November 4, 1919, in Austin, Texas. Isabella graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1938. She married Bert Childs on June 2, 1939. Isabella was a loving wife and mother and gave many years of devoted care to her husband who struggled with a serious kidney disease, they were married 41 years, prior to his death in 1980. Isabella was employed for 30 years by the Capital National Bank (now Chase Bank). She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Austin. She is survived by her daughter Kalen Childs Donnelly. Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Joseph Burks; her husband, Bert Childs; her brother, John Cade Burks; and her two sisters, Frances Green and Duana Tobin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
