Helen Passur Tobin, beloved wife, mother and grandmother (GaGa), passed away on December 28, 2017, at the Heart Hospital of Austin. She was 98 years old. Born on September 30, 1919, in Miles, Texas, at age 7 Helen moved to Crane with her parents, Nathan and Bertha Passur, brother Charles and sister Evelyn. She attended the University of Texas at Austin in the late '30s where she was a member of the Curtain Club theater group with John Connally and Zachary Scott.
A true west Texas pioneer, Helen owned and operated the T&P Clothiers in Crane for 53 years with her husband Bob and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Bernice Passur. The epitome of class and elegance, Helen was known for her inner and outer beauty. Her kindness, warmth, generosity and humor touched the lives of many people. Helen cherished her Jewish faith and was a member of Temple Beth-El in Odessa, Texas, and Agudas Achim in Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Tobin, to whom she was married for 65 years. She is survived by her children, Lanie Hill and Susan Chisum, and granddaughters Natalie Hill and Brittany Chisum.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, Texas.
