Hazel and her family were very involved with the Salvation Army as she grew up, and as an adult, she held various administrative positions with churches, and then completed her career in office administration with the Texas Telephone Association before retiring at 72 years of age.
Hazel loved life and enjoyed the time spent with family, as well as being outdoors camping, singing and taking the grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the park and playground.
Hazel is survived by her son Bruce Carter and his wife Wanda, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Charles Magown and his wife Anna, her sister-in-law Barbara Maier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Carter, her son Philip Carter, her daughter-in-law Roxine Carter, and her great-granddaughter Brittany, her parents James and Hilma Magown, her two brothers Lloyd Magown and Dan Magown, and her sister-in-law, Lillian Magown.
The family is grateful for the loving care that was provided to Hazel at Hill Country Care Center in Dripping Springs.
