Hazel Loraine Bayh

Loraine Bayh passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017 in Austin at the age of 94. She answered to many names; Hazel Loraine Bowen Overman Bayh included all her names, but most beloved was Mom, Grandmom and wife. She was born in Christiansburg, Virginia on December 27, 1922 in the Bowen family home and lived in various cities and states before she settled in Austin in 1982.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers as well as her first husband, Russell Overman and was survived by her husband Bill Bayh, daughter Loretta and husband John Voss, son Steve and wife Dottie Overman, daughter Michelle Wagner and son Jon Bayh; grandchildren Jay and wife Monica Voss, Debbie and husband Butch Grote, Laura and husband Troy Minyard, Lindsay and husband Scott Morgan, Carly and husband Dave Rice, Robert Wagner and Nathan Wagner; great-grandchildren Dustin Voss; Hailey and Will Grote; Kayla, Dylan and Hannah Minyard; River and Scarlett Morgan; Griffon Rice and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loraine loved gardening, travel and cooking but most of all her family, which was most precious to her.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for May 26, 2017 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 10010 Anderson Mill Road, Austin 78750 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Anderson Mill Garden Club or Bethany United Methodist Church.
