Harry E. Jacobsen was born August 14, 1910 in Chicago, Illinois to Lydia and Bryon Jacobsen. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Naida Groves, also a graduate of Iowa State University shortly after graduation, on November 16, 1935. Harry was a Lt. Colonel in World War II serving four years in Europe, North Africa and Pacific areas. In civilian life he specialized in building compressor stations, pipelines, power plants and refineries in the US, Sudan Africa, and Saudi Arabia. Harry was a life member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, Masonic Lodge, and the Shrine. He was an active member of the United Methodist church. He is survived by his wife Naida Jacobsen of 67 years, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Dr. Pat McCormack, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Coleen Jacobsen, five grandchildren: Wyatt and Jocelyn McCormack, Michele, Kyle, and Alyss Jacobsen, sister-in-law Audrey Mishler, nephew Craig Mishler and niece Sally Jacobsen. We would like to give special thanks to Harrys devoted caregivers: Cindy, Juna, Lydia, Lucy and Margie.
