Harold A. Wolf Harold A. Wolf, 81, a retired University of Texas professor, died October 19, 2004. Memorial services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2004. Harold was born February 10, 1923 in Lind, Washington. He served in the Navy during World War II and later attended the University of Oregon where he earned his degree in economics and then his Masters and Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. He taught at Lehigh University and the University of Colorado before settling in Austin and teaching finance for 27 years. His family and friends will remember him as a unique individual who was full of curiosity with opinions on many topics. Recently he had dedicated himself to traveling with his wife of 43 years, Jeanette. He was an energetic man and would agree with Henry Wadsworth Longfellows words For the soul is dead that slumbers,/ And things are not what they seem./ Life is real! Life is earnest!/ And the grave is not its goal He would want more that his friends remember his life and achievements rather than mourn his death. So Let us then be up and doing,/ with a heart for any fate;/ Still achieving, still pursuing./ Learn to labor and to wait. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Laurie of Houston, daughter Suellen Crowley and son-in-law Allen and grandchildren Natalya Crowley and Aidan Crowley all of Fort Worth, and his two sisters Hertha Brunson of Seattle and Frieda Brown of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Retirement Nursing Center for their support and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Austin or other charity. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, TX 78705 - (512) 452-8811.
