Harold B. “Hal” Kildahl, age 70, of Cedar Park, passed away on September 6, 2011 in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was born on January 3, 1941 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Harold B. Kildahl and Olive T. (Okdale) Kildahl.
Hal graduated in 1964 from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was a member of the Concordia College Choir.
Hal served with the Peace Corps in Somalia beginning in 1964 and ending in 1966. After serving in the Peace Corps, he attended Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated with a Masters Degree in Theology. He served his internship with the seminary in Tanzania.
Hal worked as a sales representative for Augsburg Publishing, and retired from the company after 33 years of service. After his retirement, he worked as a sales representative for Eerdmans Publishing. He loved cars, fishing, reading, and working in his garden. He also enjoyed carpentry, and was very skilled in building and creating.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandra Kay Kildahl, who passed away on April 24, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Kildahl of Lewisville; son Eric Kildahl of Austin; and his brother, John Kildahl and wife Terry Iten of Jamestown, North Dakota.
Memorial services celebrating Hal’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin.
