Gregory L. Cross passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23 in Austin, Texas. Born in Washington, D.C., Greg lived in several cities during his childhood, but he and his family always considered Austin home.
Greg enjoyed being around family and friends, particularly if it was an outdoor activity, preferably fishing. He graduated from Austin High School and went on to Austin College in Sherman, Texas where he met his future wife, Bonnie.
Greg was a partner in the firm Cross/Recek Architects, AIA. He was instrumental in the design of many homes in and around the Austin area. He took pride in the fact that he earned his Eagle Scout Award in high school and gave back to the scouts by designing the Lindsay Lodge at Lost Pines.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy, and brother, Geoffrey. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, children, Hunter and Ashley, aunt, Helen Coffman, and family and friends.
Greg's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the many caregivers and medical professionals for their loving care and support of him and his family.
A visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, June 28 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish, 3125 N. Lamar.
In Greg's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation at alz.org or to Capitol Area Council Boy Scouts at bsacac.org.
