Mother Grace was born December 22, 1925 in Austin, Texas to Allie Williams and Rosa Lee Ratcliff, she was the oldest of 4 children. She received her education in Austin and was a proud graduate of the Old Anderson High School.
In 1946 she married the love of her life, Air Force Staff Sergeant Robert Turner of Poplar Bluff, MO. They were blessed with two children, Robert Jr and Barbara. Robert Turner Jr preceded her in death.
Mother Grace was an avid volunteer, serving on many church committees and in the community, earning over 5000 volunteer hours with the Austin Public Library. Her greatest moments were spent helping others.
She served faithfully at Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church for many years before transferring her membership to the Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to celebrate her life , her devoted daughter Barbara Jean Turner of Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Robert Turner II (Washington, DC) Terrence Turner (Austin, TX ), Michelle Turner (Arlington, TX ) Siblings: Robert Williams (Dallas, TX ) and Bernice Lowe (Hawaii). Mother Grace had scores of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved by all.
Memorial services will be held at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1179 San Bernard St, Austin, TX 78702 at 11:00 am on May 13th, 2015
