Gladys Christine Hanson grew up on a farm in Round Rock, Texas where she enjoyed family life, working and playing with her brothers, sister, cousins and friends. Gladys loved school and valued education as proven by her graduation from Round Rock High as valedictorian of her class. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Wilmer Hanson – a marriage that lasted 63 years. Wilmer was drafted in 1942, and Gladys soon followed him to Camp Stoneman California for the adventure of her life. After Wilmer went overseas, Gladys returned to Round Rock until he could rejoin her. Soon thereafter, the couple made their way to Austin with their daughter. After three moves, they found their home where Gladys would remain for over 60 years. Gladys was a great homemaker. She was a talented seamstress, a great housekeeper, and fantastic cook. Family will always cherish time spent eating great meals, playing games, enjoying conversations, and knowing they were loved during these visits.
