Gilbert Ephraim Robertson, Jr. passed away in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. He was born on March 17, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the son of Mary Taylor Robertson and Gilbert Ephraim Robertson. Gilbert received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and received a Master's degree in Operations Research from Southern Methodist University. He retired as Vice-President of Plastics Manufacturing Company in 1980. He later worked as a consultant for Athena Manufacturing in Austin. He was a voracious reader, an avid golfer, a sailor, a fisherman and he had a life long love of music. He is survived by Patricia Robertson, his wife of 56 years and two daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny and Bill Johnson and Mary and Bill Cone. His two grandsons, Will Johnson and Gil Johnson, were his biggest joy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to University United Methodist Church or the Cockrell School of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 28th, 2008 at University United Methodist Church, 2409 Guadalupe St., Austin, Texas 78705. Parking is available in the Platinum Lot, at 25th and Guadalupe St.
