Georgina Mercedes Hunter passed on from this life at 7:15am April 9th, 2008. She faced her brief battle with cancer as she did all things, with a quiet dignity and a wry sense of humor at the same time. She loved tending her rosebushes and remodeling her home, her work as a nanny, and she was an avid tennis and basketball fan. She is survived by her daughter Jana Benson Miller and her husband Kory; her son John Benson, his wife Tammy, and their son Hunter; her son Jasper William Benson IV, his wife Melissa, and their son Solomon; and her best friend and former husband Bill Benson. Special mention should also be made of the Pinkerton, Bellingrath, Hale, Edwards, Mulva, and Buffington families whose children and friendship brought so much joy into her life over the years and also her good friends Al and Jeanette Pinter. "You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on." -David Harkins Services will be Saturday, April 12th at 4pm at Inner Light Ministries located at 3724 Jefferson St. Suite 100 in The Franklin Building. In lieu of flowers her family request that donations be made to Seton Hospital. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
