Georgia Ann Duke Moxley of Austin passed away on September 24th, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born in San Antonio Texas on January 10, 1929 to George Carswell Duke and Lucille Tabitha Hartfield Duke. Her parents both passed away when she was young. Her father passed away about three months before she was born and her mother passed away when she was six. She and her sister Ruth were raised by her aunt and uncle, Maxie Lee Brooks and Irene Brooks. She attended Harlandale High School. After college, she became a lab technician. On August 27th, 1948 she married her childhood sweetheart, Raymond Frank Moxley Sr. In 1950 they moved from San Antonio to Austin where she became a homemaker for their three children.
She was a loving wife and mother and a cherished grandmother and great grandmother. She was very nurturing and enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles. She unfortunately was diagnosed with dementia around 2000 and in 2008 she lost her beloved husband of 60 years. She suffered a stroke in 2012 and spent the last 6 years at Gracywood Nursing Home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Duke and Lucille Duke, as well as Maxie Brooks and Irene Brooks.
She is survived by her children, George Duke Moxley and wife, Linda of Austin, Raymond Frank Moxley, Jr. and wife Lashawna of Leander and Beverly Kay Moxley and husband Donnie Sonnier, Jr. of Austin. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Einkauf of Corpus Christi and sister-in-law Alice Wright of Austin; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Wells Branch.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00pm to 3:00pm before the funeral service at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum, 14501 N. IH 35 in Pflugerville.
