Georgeann Blevins-Reyna passed away on May 21, 2024, in Buda, Texas with her devoted daughter, Sabrina, by her side. She was born on October 3, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas to George and Mary Blevins. She grew up alongside her brother, Morris and sister, Mary. Georgeann eventually moved to Austin, Texas to attend Southwest Texas State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration while working full time to pay for her education.
She met and married her husband, Richard, and they had 3 children, Sabrina, Monica, and Richard, Jr. While juggling life as a wife and mother, she was very instrumental in the growth of the family-owned driving schools. An entrepreneur at heart, she also managed to start her own travel agency and eventually her own insurance agency.
Georgeann was a very strong, intelligent woman, not to mention an amazing cook, an excellent hostess to her friends and family, and an impeccable seamstress. There was nothing she wouldn't try, and what she tried was a success. While some saw her quiet in nature, she was friendly and fun-loving when she was with her family and friends. Her intelligence, quick wit and dry humor often made you wonder if she was laughing with you or at you.
She was born with a strength and tenacious will that enabled her to fight her long battle with Parkinson's disease. While it made its way into her daily life, she never let it define who she was. She was determined to leave behind a legacy in her children and grandchildren, and she more than did. She was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved her children unconditionally. They were her most important priority; her whole world, and her family was blessed to spend her last Mother's Day by her side. She will be missed immensely.
Georgeann is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Blevins, and her brother, Morris Blevins. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Reyna; her children:
Sabrina Reyna, Monica Reyna, and Richard Reyna Jr. (Andrea); her stepdaughter Melissa Tovar (Pete); her grandkids: Samantha, Maxine, Jade, Anthony, Autumn, and Annaleigh; great granddaughter, Arya; and her loving sister, Mary; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Provident Assisted Living - Buda (formally Sodalis Buda Assisted Living) for the care Georgeann received during her time there. We will forever be grateful for the way they loved her and took such great care as if she were family.
A memorial service for Georgeann will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.
