Genevieve Mary (Krasnesky) Warwick, 82, of Austin was called to Heaven on October 23, 2012. She passed quietly and gently into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus. She was surrounded by her children in her last days, both in body as well as in Spirit. She felt the presence of those who loved her comforting her as she took her final steps on her journey home to God.
Genevieve was born May 20, 1930 in Erie, PA. She proudly served in the United States Navy in the 1950's as a photographer where she met her beloved husband. After marrying Ted she became a devoted "Navy wife" serving beside him as his assignments took him away from his family for many months at a time. During his absence Genevieve cared for their six children. Genevieve was a very proud and self-sufficient woman. She managed a household of six children on a very strict budget, she was most certainly one of the pioneers of "once a month grocery shopping!" In her younger days she and Ted enjoyed bowling, skeet shooting, and playing pinochle. Genevieve and Ted enjoyed traveling, and visited South Dakota multiple times to chronicle the progress of the Crazy Horse monument. They made numerous trips across the United States visiting many, many historic places. Her pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia and Lourdes, France on two different occasions brought her tremendous joy.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn and Robert Bingham of Overland Park, KS, Cynthia and John Rodriguez of Buda, TX, Joyce and Forrest Johnson of Austin, TX, and Janice and Tim McNutt of Austin, TX; sons, Steven and Barbara Warwick of Keller, TX and Michael and Deann Warwick of San Tan Valley, AZ. She was loved by her grandchildren, Bonnie, Kristal, Matthew, Christopher, Sara, Tara, Daniel, Andrew, Stephen, Lisa, Leland, Olivia, Ian, and Emily; and by her great grand-children, Haydon, McKinley, and Braydon.
She is also survived by her sister, Florence Krieger of Erie, PA; her brother, Delbert Kraner of CA; and sister-in-law Marge Krasnesky of Fayetteville, AR.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Theodore Bryant Warwick; her mother, Amelia Decker Krasnesky; her father, Henry Krasnesky; and brother, Henry Krasnesky,
The family will receive friends Thursday October 25 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm with Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, Congress Avenue. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, Buda, TX. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
