Gary D Charley

Gary Dayne Charley passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born February 8, 1956 in Murfreesboro, TN to William Owen Charley and Wanda Faye Gosa. His father was in the Air Force which allowed him to grow up all over the world, carrying with him amazing stories of all that he had experienced. His father’s military career landed them in Austin, TX where the family set their roots in the late 60’s.

Gary loved with his whole heart and never did meet a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always ready to help. There was not a trade he did not have experience in. He knew how to fix almost anything and was never too proud, on the rare occasion, to admit when he did not. You never left his presence without knowing a little more about something than you did beforehand.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years and the love of his life, Mary Louise Gillam Charley. His father and mother, William Owen Charley Sr. and Wanda Faye Gosa Charley. Three of his brothers Terry, Larry and William jr. Brother in laws Ben and Jimmy Gillam. Nephew Anthony Cerda and granddaughter Camilla Elisabeth Charley.

Gary Charley is survived by his four children Michael Charley, Laura Charley, Amanda Charley and Gary Charley jr. Grandchildren Mikayla Charley, Mia and Kaleb Beck. He is also survived by his sisters Marry Charley and Sherry Charley and brother Jerry Charley. Sister in law DeeAnn Gillam Duncan. As well as his nieces Christina Cerda, Rayna Davis, Candace Gillam and Mary Katherine Blackstock. Nephews James Ray Davis, Justin Charley, Jason Davis, Will Gillam and many many more family members. He was blessed to have such a large family and network of friends.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at 12:00 P.M at Austin Memorial Park 2800 Hancock Dr. His wife, Mary L. Charley's cremains will be buried alongside him the same day.

Friends and family are also invited to gather afterwards at The Little Longhorn Saloon, 5434 Burnet Rd. For lunch, music and celebration of life.
