Garland L. Francis, beloved father and husband, age 92, of Austin, TX, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007. Garland was born on July 24, 1914, to Leonard Franklin Francis and Cora Ellen Francis in Ridgeway, MO. Garland graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1937 with a degree in Agriculture. He enlisted in the Army in 1941. In 1943 he married Mary Rosenbaum. Garland worked in various capacities in the mortgage lending field and prior to his retirement in 1983, he was the owner of The Windsor School. He was a member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church for many years. Garland is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Patti Brower; son-in-law, Seth Brower; and granddaughter, Meryl Brower. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Weed Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr., with Rev. Robert Hall officiating. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
