Ms. Freddie Nyland, 74, passed away December 9. Born June 1, 1935 in Freer, Texas to Anna Bell and Fred Arthur DeVilbiss. Freddie is survived by four sons, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters. Freddie was a long time volunteer in the Austin community supporting: Scouting, Memorial United Methodist Church, Winsor Park Neighborhood Association, Austin Police Department, Graffiti Clean-up, and many other community activities. She had countless friends from her various activities. She was known as a head strong character, who loved to be around people, kids and wanted to be a part of the activity. The family appreciates the many friends Freddie was blessed with over the years. The family would like to thank the Pflugerville Care Center and Lighthouse Hospice for taking wonderful care of our beloved Mother. Family visitation will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Friday, December 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The service will be at Memorial United Methodist Church, in Austin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday December 12, 2009. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs, Texas.
