Frances K. Walker, 94, of Austin, Texas, died on August 22, 2008. She was born on March 31, 1914, in Kendalia, Texas, to Oscar Oswald Kneupper and Minnie Gorley Kneupper. Frances attended the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to attend and graduate from secretarial school and began her career with the Texas Legislature, working with past governors, Allan Shivers and John Connally. She was very proud to be the First Lobby Registrar for the State of Texas. Frances worked for seventeen years as office manager for the Texas Legislative Service. Frances was very active in her daughters life, she worked as PTA president and Scout Leader, her family was very important to her. She was proud to be a charter member and president of Highland Park Gardeners. She enjoyed playing bridge, dominoes, hunting and fishing. She married Fred Walker in June, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, and one brother. Frances is survived by her daughter, Pam Turlak; brother, O.J. Kneupper; sister, Alene Schertz; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2008 at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
