She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for more than seventy years serving the Lord in several ministries at the church. She and Walter were also involved with the World Hope Ministry, traveling around the world sharing the gospel.
Frances worked for several years at the City of Austin Health Department. After she retired, she and Walter loved to travel, serve with World Hope, and spend great times with their family and friends. They especially enjoyed camping, family reunions and taking their grandkids with them whenever and wherever they could.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Barbara Kirk; grandson, Joe David Kirk; and sister, Jean Harlan.
She is survived by her son, David Nettle (Karen); daughter, Billie Scurlock (Joe Ray); grandchildren, Kristi Jones (Dale), Kimberly Davis (Ray), Mark Kirk (Amanda), Matt Kirk (Audra), Tommie Nettle, Teri Nettle, Jennifer Tobey (David), and Gina Floyd (James); and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom were loved dearly by her.
A Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021, with Funeral Services at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3838 Steck Ave, Austin. An Interment service will follow at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin.
