Frances Murray Leggett

Frances Murray Leggett, age 83, died March 22, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born May 23, 1925 in Austin, Texas, to Dr. R.V. Murray and Jessie Ramsey Murray. Frances graduated from Austin High and then attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Chi Omega. She was a member of the Jr. League of Austin, the Austin Woman's Club and an active member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Elbert Riley Leggett and her sister, Annabel Murray Thomas. Frances is survived by three daughters, Cynthia and husband Steve Norwood, Nancy and husband Fred Clark, and Louann and husband Ed Ruby. Her grandchildren are Major Carl Clark, Garrett Clark and wife Larissa, Jim Clark and wife Amy, Rusty Ruby, Brian Ruby and wife Kambry and Cynthia Ruby Holt and husband Mike. Frances leaves two great-grandsons, Preston and Brandon Clark. Also surviving are her sister, Margaret Murray Bailey and brother, Dr. Vincent Murray and wife, Claire, along with a very close extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway.
