Estella E. Velasquez

A visitation for Estella will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, TX 78731. A rosary will occur Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, TX 78731. A mass of the resurrection will occur Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Cathedral, 203 East 10th Street, Austin, TX 78701. Burial will follow the mass at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin,TX 78731.

Estella Velasquez was preceded in death by her father, Narciso Escareno Sr., mother, Josefa V. Escareno, Sibling’s Juanita Escareno, Carmen Escareno Mendez, Dolores (Lolo) Escareno, Narciso Escareno Jr., Faustino Escareno, Mercedes (Mercy) Escareno Guerrero, and grandson, Gregory Rene Acosta.

She is survived by her husband, Guadalupe C. Velasquez, sons, Michael Velasquez and Edward Velasquez, both of Austin, daughters, Lynda Acosta (David), Teresa Flores (Lee), both of Pflugerville, Deborah De La Cruz (Chris O’Balle), Denise Maldonado (Pete), both of Austin, grandchildren, Pete Anthony Salazar, Jennifer Marie Gonzales, David Russell Acosta, Angelica R. De La Cruz, Kristine A. Escobedo, Victoria A. De La Cruz, Tessa Desiree Maldonado, Daniel Marcus Maldonado, Isabelle D. De La Cruz, and 10 precious great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Aunt Estella's nephews, Rudy Hernandez, Ray Sanchez, Jr., Mario Molina, Phillip Velasquez, Andrew Velasquez and Casey Vela who will honor her by serving as pallbearers. You all are very special to the family and your assistance in carrying her to her resting place is sincerely appreciated.

The family would like to thank Hospice Austin for the care and compassion they showed our mother the last two and a half years. The hospice staff was incredibly dedicated and we could not have done this without their loving support. Our family also wishes to thank our dear family friend, Rosie Lopez, who was there throughout the years alongside us to help take care of our mother and the home in which mom and dad shared.

The funeral reception will immediately follow the burial at the Ben Hur Shrine Auditorium located at 7811 Rockwood Ln, Austin Tx 78757. Family and friends are encouraged to stay and share memories at the funeral reception.
