Emma Rebecca Johns Hagar passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022, in Cedar Park, Texas., at the age of 98. Emma was born in Fernandina, Florida on June 12, 1924, to Hardy and Vynessie Johns. Emma grew up in a loving family of 10 children – 6 brothers and 3 sisters. During her lifetime she lived in Florida, Louisiana and Texas. Emma had 3 daughters who were blessed to have such a wonderful, loving mother. Emma was a devoted mother and raising her girls was her joy. Once her girls were adults with their own families Emma really started enjoying life. Emma traveled to all U. S. states except Hawaii, and to Canada, Mexico, many Caribbean islands, and the Netherlands either by motor home, cruise ships, trains or airplanes. Emma had a zest for life whether riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, bicycles, or boats. Emma was predeceased by her parents, Hardy Johns and Vynessie Barber; her husband, Bill Hagar; and her daughter, Carolyn Breskovic. She is survived by 2 daughters Lonis Curol (Kenny) and Joyce Stapleton (Russell); 10 grandchildren – Ray Page (Lisa), Kevin Page (Van), Kimberly Robinson (Brian), Carol Sims (John Krenek), Levis Sims (Danielle), Andrea Williams (Danny), Chad Lawson (Jamie), Russ Stapleton, Rick Stapleton (LeAnn) and Crys Norsworthy (Todd), and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived her sister, Blanche Slaydon, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 3 pm at Highland Memory Gardens, Lake Charles, Louisiana. The mausoleum does not allow flowers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or one of your favorite charities. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service from 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm at the mausoleum.
