Ellen was born to Lillie and Howard Dickinson in Hallsville, Texas. She graduated from Taylor High School and attended The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. In 1949, she married Wallace Carlson. Their blessed union ended when Wallace died in 1991.
Ellen was a dedicated charter member of Crestview United Methodist Church. She loved being busy and enjoyed helping with the Methodist Women’s church activities, oil painting, playing bridge and playing the piano. Ellen loved being with friends and family.
Ellen is survived by her sons, Harold Carlson and Mark Carlson, and daughter, Elaine Mittel. She is also survived by her brother, Hobart Dickinson and her sister, Betty Lou Hunter, as well as seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ellen's beloved son, Wesley Carlson preceded her in death, as well as one grandson, and a brother and sister.
In consideration of the current pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a future time and date with the location to be determined.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
